2024 Skincare Favorites Roundup

These are the products that I fell in love with this past year as well as some products that have been favorites for years and remained favorites this year.

I am 44, so my skin is maturing and changing. This means that products I used to love sometimes don’t quite cut it anymore. I am lucky that my social media platform affords me access to so many brands and gifting opportunities, so I get to try a lot of different products. And, I spend a small fortune on top of those gifted items buying things that I don’t receive in PR. Suffice it to say, I try a lot of products and most do not make it into my permanent rotation. Not that they were necessarily bad, just that I have found other products that work better. As this year comes to a close I want to share those items that I discovered this year that I feel are superior as well as items that I’ve carried over from previous years that remain in my rotation. I will also share links and discount codes (if I have one) for each item.

Before I get started, let me remind you what my skin type is. I have normal-dry skin that is rosacea prone.

Favorite Cleansers

Prequel Pre-Gleanse (Oil Cleanser) -Retails for $20- From the makers of my favorite facial cleanser (the Gleanser) this is an oil based, first cleanse formulated with cica oil, linoleic acid, linolenic acid, rice bran oil and gentle surfactants that dissolve makeup, excess sebum, sunscreen and other impurities without clogging pores or stripping the skin. This formula is suitable for all skin types and does not give me cloudy eyes or burn my eyes! All products made by Prequel are incredibly affordable and highly effective. This is a new favorite for 2024.

Prequel Gleanser + SA - Retails for $20 - This is a reformulation of my all time favorite facial cleanser (the Gleanser) by Prequel. It is the exact same 50% glycerin formula (super super hydrating) as the Gleanser with the addition of 1% salicylic acid for a gentle exfoliation. And of course, it still comes in the huge giant bottle that will last you forever. This can also be used on the body. This is to be used after an oil cleanser to thoroughly cleanse your skin while providing 24 hour moisture. This is a new favorite for 2024

Favorite Serums

Golden Hour Vitamin C Serum by Educated Mess - Retails for $85 (Use Code VERONICA10 to save 10%) - Formulated by my favorite cosmetic chemist, Alex Padgett (also the brand founder) this is an advanced antioxidant serum delivering gold-stabilized Vitamin C, glutathione, and fermented extracts and enzymes with instant hydration benefits to brighten and contribute to a more radiant, even-toned complexion. Super Saturated by Experiment Beauty - Retails for $28 - A long time favorite of mine, this is a 30% Glycerin serum. It provides the ultimate in hydration. I can’t even tell you how many bottles of this I’ve gone through over the past 2 years. Worth every single penny

This is a RETINAL (as opposed to Retinol) which is just one step below prescription strength. However, because it combines an encapsulated Retinal with peptides, omegas, ceramides and an innovative blend of antioxidants and amino acids, I have actually had better results with this than I did with my prescription strength tretinoin. Also, because this is an encapsulated Retinal formula, it is safe for sensitive skin. I use the .1% strength but it does also come in a .05% strength. This is a new favorite for 2024.
